Launching This Month: The Parents First Initiative

Raising kids can be tough, but learning about it doesn’t have to be! That’s why LVfirst, in partnership with the Georgia Center of Opportunity, has launched the Parents First Initiative - to offer parenting classes in the Lawrenceville community to teach skills and provide support to help build stronger families by empowering parents with confidence, tools, and skills needed to raise their children to be the best that they can be.

In these classes, parents and caregivers will learn how to talk and listen to their kids and discover the building blocks necessary for children to avoid negative behaviors and grow into adults who confidently navigate their world. Topics include valuing and seeking support, encouraging responsibility in children, empowering positive decision-making, improving empathy, friendship skills, resistance to negative peer pressure, and the ability to resolve conflict.

The best part about these parenting programs? Parents will discover they’re not alone in their parenting journey. Parents will find a community of other parents who are following the same journey, experiencing similar challenges, and celebrating shared victories. Throughout this impactful, interactive, and entirely FREE program, parents will build community with other parents while raising healthier, more caring, and responsible children. If you haven’t already heard, Parents First is starting to hold classes this January! We have been working hard for many months to put this program together and are so excited to begin!

Our first class will be hosted at the Lawrenceville Coop on Sunday evenings at 4:00 PM beginning January 21st, with an additional class happening on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM at Central Gwinnett High School.

If you would like more in-depth information, please contact Adam Witter at adamw@lvfirst.org or go to the program website at: https://www.lvfirst.org/parentsfirst

So be encouraged! Together as a community, we are empowering families for success!
