Sunday Re-Cap (October 12, 2026)

This Sunday, we dove into Acts 4 and 5 to explore what it truly means to live and give as a community centered on Jesus. Looking at the illustration of geese flying in formation, we reflected on how we travel further and faster when we support one another and share the load. Through the contrasting stories of Barnabas and the tragedy of Ananias and Sapphira, we examined the difference between authentic generosity and performative spirituality. As we head into this new week, let’s evaluate whether our lives and hearts are aligned with God's calling to open our hands and care for the needs around us.

Sermon Notes

Check out some of the key takeaways from this past Sunday's sermon.

This week's scripture was Acts 4:32-37
  • Everything we have is a gift from God, and recognizing ourselves as stewards rather than owners changes our relationship with our possessions and opens our hands to give and receive more freely.

  • Authentic generosity is not about appearances or influence. It is about honest, heartfelt investment in what God is doing, aligned with what He asks of us personally rather than what we want others to see us give.

  • When we each contribute our part, we create lift for those around us and move together toward a community where real needs are met. This should be the goal and the calling of the church.
