This Sunday, we continued our series by looking at 1 Corinthians 10:23–11:1 and Paul’s call to use our freedom for the sake of others. We explored how being relatable meant asking not just what we were allowed to do, but what was loving, beneficial, and able to build others up. We were reminded that Jesus used His freedom for our sake, and we were invited to imitate Him in the way we relate to the people around us.

This week's scripture was 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1
- Freedom in Christ is not a license for self-centeredness. The Corinthian slogan "all things are lawful" is technically true for those living under grace, but Paul pushes us deeper by asking whether our choices bring people together and build them up. Our freedom is most powerful when it is used for the benefit of others rather than ourselves.
- Asking "what is loving?" is more transformative than asking "what am I allowed to do?" When we shift from seeking our own advantage to seeking the good of the neighbor, it changes the entire dynamic of our relationships and opens doors for the gospel to be heard and received.
- Christ is our ultimate example of setting aside freedom for the sake of others. As described in Philippians 2, Jesus did not exploit his equality with God but humbled himself for our sake. Paul calls us to imitate that posture, trusting that we will never lose by helping someone else win.
