This Sunday, we continued our journey through Jeremiah 29 and reflected on God’s call to live faithfully even when we found ourselves in places we did not want to be. We explored how God invited the exiles, and us, to seek God, serve others, and keep building family and community right where we were. We were reminded that family was not only what we were born into, but also what we chose to build together as the family of faith. Together, we considered how multiplying our care, service, and love helped us see beyond ourselves and join God’s bigger movement of hope and shalom.

This week's scripture was Jeremiah 29:4-14
- We cannot postpone faithful living because our circumstances are not perfect. God called the exiles to build, plant, marry, and multiply right where they were. He calls us to do the same, to keep seeking Him and serving others no matter what obstacles stand in our way.
- Family is not only what we are born into but what we choose to build together. Jesus himself, as described in Matthew 12:46-50, pointed to those gathered around him as his true family. The church is meant to be that kind of family for everyone, a place where no one is alone in their struggles, whether they are navigating the demands of parenting, caring for an aging loved one, or simply looking for a community that knows them by name.
- God calls us to multiply our impact. When we invest in one person and that person invests in another, the ripple effect becomes a movement of love that spans generations. Seeing beyond ourselves is not just an act of generosity; it is the very means by which God's family grows and His purposes are fulfilled in the world.
