Sunday Re-Cap (April 6, 2026)

This Sunday, we took a look at John's Gospel account of the resurrection and reflected on Jesus' question to Mary, "Who are you looking for?"

We were challenged to turn away from the empty places in our lives and to recognize that what we've been searching for is actually a who. A living savior who brings resurrection - right here and right now.

Sermon Notes

Check out some of the key takeaways from this past Sunday's sermon.

This week's scripture was John 20:1-18
  • Stop looking in empty tombs. We waste so much energy returning to the same places that we know won't satisfy us—dead-end relationships, unfulfilling pursuits, or past disappointments. Jesus invites us to turn away from what's empty and encounter what's alive.

  • Faith is about encountering a "who," not figuring out a "what." Christianity isn't primarily a list of rules or actions; it's a living relationship with Jesus. When we shift from asking "what should I do?" to "who am I following?", everything changes.

  • Resurrection is happening all around us. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today—in our lives, our relationships, our community. God is bringing new life to dead places, and we get to participate in that resurrection work.
