When we look at Matthew's Gospel, we find that true peace doesn't come from having control over our circumstances, but from recognizing God's presence with us.

This week's scripture was Matthew 1:18-25
- Choose peace over pace. The busyness and comparison that mark this season can rob us of the very peace Christmas is meant to bring. When we feel those unexpected emotions rising up, it's often because we're trying to keep pace with everyone else instead of resting in God's presence with us.
- Choose connection over control. Like Joseph, we often respond to uncertainty by trying to "dismiss quietly" the hard things. God invites us to move toward connection rather than control, trusting that He is with us in the mess.
- Choose clarity over certainty. We may not be able to control our circumstances or know how everything will turn out, but we can have absolute clarity about who is with us. God shows up in our most unexpected circumstances, promising His presence in the ER, the attorney's office, the carpool line, and everywhere in between.
