This Sunday, we talked about the challenge of "inattentional blindness"—our tendency to miss what's most important because we're focused on lesser things. By putting Lawrenceville first—meaning seeking God's kingdom within their community—the church can create spaces where people find safety, hope, and freedom.

Sermon Notes
Check out some of the key takeaways from this past Sunday's sermon.
This week's scripture was Matthew 6:24-34
This week's scripture was Matthew 6:24-34
- You cannot serve two masters - Jesus names the reality that our money and possessions often compete for the attention that rightfully belongs to God. When we're anxious about what we'll eat, drink, or wear, we're being "pulled apart" (the literal meaning of anxiety) rather than focused on God's kingdom.
- Generosity breaks the cycle of worry - When we purposefully give a portion of what we've been given to something bigger than ourselves, we actually have less to worry about. You can't lose what you've intentionally invested in God's kingdom, and you'll never feel second when you put God first.
- Seeking the kingdom means putting Lawrenceville first - Our commitment isn't just personal; it's communal. We're called to invest in our schools, families, and neighbors, creating a place where elderly feel safe and children play freely in the streets - a tangible picture of God's kingdom at work among us.
